WELCOME to the
American Walkers’ Association Website
The Oldest Walking Club in the USA - Established December 1916
Enjoy your visit and after reading of our aim and about membership, we hope that you will join us for a walk and consider becoming a member of our organization.
Two groups walk every Sunday. The morning group walks four to seven miles and the afternoon group usually covers two to four miles. Our walks each week are in different locations around the tri-state. We walk in city parks, county parks, state parks, bike trails and roads around Northern Kentucky, Southwest Ohio & Southeast Indiana. The time and location of our walks are listed in the "SCHEDULED WALKS" section of this website and in our schedule book, which is included with your membership dues.
When the weather is good, the morning group brings a picnic lunch and if the weather is bad they find a nearby place to eat lunch (they know most of the good ones.) Either way they enjoy a bit of socializing.
When park trails are muddy or icy, every attempt will be made to move the hike to surfaced roads.
Our newsletter, THE PEDOMETER (see membership below), contains pertinent information about upcoming walks.
