July 2008

 

 6th – 9:00 a.m. – A.J. Jolly Park, KY (paved)

          Where I-475 meets US27 drive 12 miles south. At Marathon Station, turn right and park near

             Sam's Super Car Wash

 

10th - 6:45 p.m. - Thursday - Farbach-Werner Preserve (paved) (Hamilton Co. Park sticker required)

          3455 Poole Road.  In Colerain Twp. at the corner of Colerain Avene and Poole Road. Enter off of

            Poole Road. Nature shop is open ‘til 8 p.m. Picnic supper

 

13th – 9:00 a.m. – Mt. St. Joseph (paved & trail)
           
Via I-75 N or S, take Exit 1G/Freeman Avenue and follow the signs to US50 W/River Road. Drive

            5.5 miles to Anderson Ferry Road (large Mobile Station/UDF on corner), turn right. At major

            intersection, turn left on Delhi Pike and go to the end and park at the Mother House. Bring lunch.

 

19th - 9:00 a.m. - SATURDAY - Oldenburg, IN (paved & trails)

            I-74 West (toward Indianapolis) to Exit 149 (Batesville Exit) – Turn right off of the exit, onto Indiana

            State Route 229, drive approximately 2.5 miles - SR229 goes directly into the heart of Oldenburg.

            Meet at the Firehouse. The festival organizers will have a 10k walk through the charming town of

            Oldenburg and the surrounding countryside. The Freudenfest Festival will be taking place

            with old time farm equipment exhibits, food booths, Civil War re-enactors, and entertainment

            throughout the afternoon and evening.

 

20th - 9:00 a.m. – Ft. Thomas/Tower Park (paved & trail)

            From I-471, exit at Grand Avenue (SR1892), follow signs to Ft. Thomas. At the 1st stop sign, bear

            right to Stone Tower, enter left on Douglas, right on Cochran. Park by tennis courts. Hike in park.

            Bring lunch.

 

24th - 6:30 p.m. - Thursday - Winton Woods (paved & trails) (Hamilton Co. Park sticker required)

          10245 Winton Road.  Driving south on Winton Road turn right onto Valley View, drive .6 mi to

             Kingfisher & Great Oaks Trails (Level 4). Picnic supper.

 

27th - 9:00 a.m.- Sharon Woods (paved & gravel trail) (Hamilton Co. Park sticker required)

          Enter park off US42. Meet at Sharon Centre. Bring picnic lunch.

 

August 2008

 3rd – 9:00 a.m. – Avoca Trail Head (paved) (Hamilton Co. Park sticker required)
         
On US50 halfway between Terrace Park and Mariemont. Bring lunch.

 

10th – 9:00 a.m. – Winton Woods (paved & trails) (Hamilton Co. Park sticker required)
           
10245 Winton Road.  Driving south on Winton Road turn right at park entrance (Valley View),

              then left at Winton Centre.  Meet at end of large parking lot. Bring lunch.

 

14th – 6:30 p.m. - Thursday - Burns Avenue, Wyoming, OH (paved)
          Turn onto Wyoming Avenue off of Vine Street. Go right on Burns, park just beyond the

             Presbyterian Church.

 

17th – 9:00 a.m. - Woodland Mound (paved & trails) (Hamilton Co. Park sticker required)

           8250 Old Kellogg Road.  Take US52 E to Eight-Mile Road. Turn left and immediately right to

             park entrance.  Meet at Seasongood Pavilion. 


24th - 9:00 a.m. – Story Woods Park, Delhi (gravel trails)

           694 Pontius Road. Exit I-75 at Harrison Ave. Take Queen City Avenue to left on Sunset. Cross

             Glenway (Sunset becomes Rapid Run) to left on Pontius to park on left.  Meet in parking lot.

             Bring Lunch.

 

31st - 9:00 a.m. - Big Bone State Park (paved and trails)

            Take I-75 S to US42 (exit 180), turn right approximately 9 miles to SR338. Turn right on

             SR338 and go approx 3 miles to park. Meet inside the park at the first parking area on the right.

             Walk in the park. Bring lunch.
